Henry Miller – Black Spring.

First reading this around 1976 I felt so lucky. I was in digs. I’d found Miller mentioned by George Orwell, a writer that fascinated me. I read everything in print for Orwell. I still remember an Orwell  book cover illustrating a short bookshelf, ‘Black Spring’ included.  Probably fron ‘Inside the Whale and other Essays’. Wonderful stuff.

Quite by luck I have found an excellent recording of Henry Miller reading from ‘Black Spring’ a favourite book of mine. Its interesting to hear of him mention his love for Clichy in Paris, thats where we stayed in ’91 just before our first Beagle.  He reads from precisely where I finished reading last night – spooky!
